Product Design
Contracted Micro Project for HomeTap
On Boarded as a Digital Product Designer at HomeTap, a Boston based Home Equity Investment Startup. Worked with various stakeholders including the Head of Design, Marketing, Merchandising. Product and Sales to create a digital tool to help users visually understand their own debts. This project enhanced my professional UX critical thinking by solving a problem for HomeTap’s user traffic to their website and used UI thinking to focus on usability of the tool while maximizing the user’s experience. The initial concept was to create two different calculators, one an Up To Amount calculator that allows the user to see the estimated amount that they could receive from HomeTap as a loan and wha the future of that loan might look like. The other calculator is a Cost Of Debt that allows the user to input specific debts that are unique to the user and outputs the total amount of debts the user has in a visually comprehensive way.
Each stage of the Summer 2020 long term project was mapped out starting with the initial concept of the two different calculators, to wireframing in Sketch, to visual execution that included multiple zoom meetings and slack channels of communication between all stakeholders to prototyping in Invision usability testing with diverse individuals from a third party user testing source, to design edits from the user testing feedback, to development prepping in Zeplin and finally to development in which the two calculators will be live in November of 2020.
